NERGG is  delighted to announce that Angela Shepard, MD, MPH will start July 1, 2025 as NERGG’s newest Executive Director, replacing Cindy Ingham who is retiring this year.  Many of you already know Dr. Shepard as the director of the former New England Regional Genetics Network (NERGN). Dr. Shepard received her MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.  She did a Preventive Medicine Residency at UMass Medical School and received a Master of Public Health degree from UMass Amherst. Dr. Shepard is a valued member of a number of medical and public health related boards and committees.  She has an impressive history of professional and volunteer service in New Hampshire, including

  • President, NH Rare Disease Advisory Council 
  • Direct Service Provider, Community Bridges
  • Volunteer Medical Advocate, Concord Homeless Resource Center   
  • Founder and Physician, True Health NH  (Preventive Medicine practice)  
  • NH State Trauma System Coordinator, NH Department of Safety    
  • Strategic Planning Consultant, NH Department of Education      
  • Adjunct Professor, NH Technical Institute       
  • School Health Service Consultant, NH Department of Education  

Dr. Shepard has collaborated with NERGG on a number of projects over the past couple of years, and she is well-acquainted with NERGG’s mission and vision.  Cindy will stay on board for a while to help with Dr. Shepard’s orientation. Dr. Shepard will be receiving the correspondence sent to director@nergg.org and phone messages left at 617-963-0900.
